Will winter never let us go?

This winter has been cold, snowy, wet, and LONG! I have tried not to complain but really! Enough already! I want to garden, I want to rake my yard. I want to go for a walk in the woods and swat at bugs!!!!
But it's a bit warmer now here in the northeast and Winter is slowly yielding to spring, but it's not going peaceable like. I was out last weekend during the torrential rain storm we had.
This is a the little brook down the road from us. As you can see it ain't so little anymore.

If so inclined we could do a little white water rafting. I'm counting my blessings because if that storm had been snow we'd still be digging out. So I find hope of spring in that I did not have to shovel any of that precipitation.

Since last weekend we've had sleet, rain, snow and yes, even a glimmer of sun.
Winter is not giving up yet, we are due for more "weather" this weekend. But it is warmer and the feet of snow on the ground is melting to inches. Just in time too, I am pining for warm breezes and sunshine. It's coming, soon, soon.

Would you like to rake my yard too? ........ and remember .... when you're swatting bugs next summer ..... you won't complain will you? ; )

I'm feeling the same way, though we don't have as much "weather" here but it's been a cold and snowy winter. I'm so tired of the colors gray and brown. Just before checking your blog I was thingking about checking out our local botannical garden's webiste to see if there might happen to be something in bloom. I might want to take a walk out there this weekend.

Have a good weekend.

Kansas CIty - Saturday - Rain/Snow Likely Hi 40°F

On second thought .... Ooops .... I checked the National Weather Serive forecast to see about the conditions for that walk. It will have to wait.

It's 51 and sunny here today and we had one day in the 70s this week. It's March!

I just looked at your 10 day forecast - it is better than ours, but don't put that snowshovel away just yet!

Spring is just around the corner! Really!

Thanks for the advice on the Aussies, but I don't think the 2"x4" will work. Aussies have very hard heads - useful when herding kicking cattle and sheep - and it wouldn't make a dent. :)
